The appliance is most commonly used in patients with mild and moderate sleep apnoea, however there have been a lot of good results lately for patients with severe sleep apnoea. One of the reasons is that it is much more comfortable than CPAP so patients are more likely to use it every single night. You can also easily take it wherever you go.

The appliance is an effective alternative to CPAP and we have found patients who aren’t able to use the machine have had great outcomes.

A sleep study needs to be done in order to diagnose sleep apnoea. However, signs and symptoms that indicate that you might have sleep apnoea include:
• Loud snoring that causes your partner to complain
• Waking up gasping for breath
• Unrefreshed sleep
• Daytime sleepiness
